The Perfect Mothers Day Gift | ad

My mum is one of the most important people in my life. I don’t show her that as often as I should do, which is why I always make the extra effort come Mothers Day. The only trouble is knowing what to buy for her. She’s the woman who has everything she could ever want, which often leaves me stuck for ideas.

Luckily this year I was given a helping hand! Amphora Aromatics Skincare released their Hydrating and Toning Face Kit just in time for Mothers Day and their lovely PR team sent one over to me! The face kit, which retails for £21.50 contains three full size skincare products.

AA Skincare hydrating and toning face kit

AA Skincare cleansing face gel

AA Skincare face toner

AA Skincare moisturising face cream

Amphora Aromatics have been producing natural aromatherapy oils for years, and recently have branched out into the world of skincare. Each product is infused with naturally sourced ingredients to tackle a specific problem area. In this case, the Frankincense & Rose combination would fight against signs of aging while refreshing and balancing the skin. Altogether the kit contains a cleansing face gel, face toner, and a moisturising face cream.

I did expect the face gel to be slightly on the thicker side in terms of consistency. The gel is extremely thin, which I didn’t mind too much with skincare products. It does feel slightly soapy initially, which worried me. Soapy face cleansers can leave the skin feeling incredibly tight and uncomfortable. We were surprised to find this leaves the skin feeling incredibly refreshed and soft. The product claims to be for all skin types, which I can definitely agree with!

I knew that my mum would love the toner in this kit, simply because of the bottle! I’ve never seen a toner in a spray bottle before, but I’m starting to wonder why. It’s amazing to be able to spritz and go, especially on warmer days when you need a quick pick-me-up. It has a lovely floral scent which might not be to everyone’s taste, but I personally love it.

The winner for mum and I overall had to be the moisturising face cream. My mum has quite dry skin due to having psoriasis, so a good face cream is incredibly important for her. A word of warning – a full pump is far too much for one use (as we found out the hard way). I find the ideal amount to use is about a quarter to half a pump of product. It absorbs instantly into the skin without leaving a greasy residue. The only negative could possibly be the strong rose scent, which is rather overpowering.

The Hydrating & Toning Face Kit retails for £21.50 on the Amphora Aromatics website, and all of their products are 100% cruelty free!

I’d like to say a huge thank you to the wonderful team at AA Skincare for sending me the face kit, it made the perfect gift for my Mum and we both loved trying out all of the products inside. All thoughts are my own and were in no way influenced by any third parties.
